This Privacy Policy explains how Hill-Fi Internet Services LLC ("HillFi," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the HillFi Status Page and its email and SMS notification service ("the Service") at https://status.hillfi.com.
By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
## 2. Information We Collect
### a) Information you provide
When you subscribe to notifications, we collect:
- **Email address** (required for email notifications)
- **Phone number** (required for SMS notifications)
- **ZIP code or service address** (optional, used to send you only notifications relevant to your area)
- **Notification preferences** (which components or service areas you want alerts for)
We do not ask for your name, payment information, or other personal details to subscribe.
### b) Information collected automatically
When you visit the Status Page, our servers may log:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Pages viewed and timestamps
- Referring website (if any)
We use a minimal set of cookies necessary for the Service to function (e.g., authentication for managing your subscription). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
### c) Information from HillFi customer records
If you are an existing HillFi internet customer and the email address you subscribe with matches an address in our customer management system (UISP), we may automatically link your subscription to your service location. This allows us to send you notifications relevant to your specific service rather than all areas. This linking is internal to HillFi and is not shared with third parties beyond the service providers listed below.
## 3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send the email and SMS notifications you subscribed to.
- Verify your subscription (double opt-in to confirm ownership of the contact info).
- Send you only notifications relevant to your service area, when possible.
- Maintain and secure the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
## 4. Service Providers We Share Information With
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the Service. These providers receive only the minimum information needed to perform their function:

## 5. Marketing
We do not use your subscription information for marketing. The only messages you will receive are operational status notifications (outages, maintenance) related to the components or areas you subscribed to.
## 5a. SMS / Mobile Data Sharing
**No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.** All categories of personal information described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are used solely to deliver the operational status notifications you subscribed to via the HillFi Status Page. They are not sold, rented, leased, or transferred to any third party for marketing or promotional purposes, and they are not shared with lead generators or data brokers under any circumstances.
The only third party that processes your mobile number on our behalf is Twilio, Inc., which delivers the SMS messages we send. Twilio is contractually bound to use your mobile number only to deliver our messages, not for any other purpose.
## 6. Data Retention
- **Active subscriber data** is retained for as long as your subscription is active.
- **Unsubscribed records** are retained in a suppressed-list form for up to 24 months solely to ensure we do not contact you again after you unsubscribed.
- **Notification logs** (a record of which messages were sent) are retained for up to 12 months for delivery troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
- **Server access logs** are retained for up to 90 days.
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).
## 7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.
- Encryption at rest for sensitive fields in our database.
- Access controls limiting who can view subscriber data.
- Regular software updates and security patches.
No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
## 8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- **Access** the information we have about you.
- **Correct** inaccurate information.
- **Delete** your subscription and associated personal data.
- **Unsubscribe** from any or all notifications at any time.
- Email: click the unsubscribe link in any email.
- SMS: reply **STOP** to any message.
- **Opt out of geo-targeted notifications** and instead receive all status updates (or none).

## 9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
## 10. Do Not Track
Our Service does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals at this time, because we do not engage in cross-site tracking of users in the first place.
## 11. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
## 12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated Policy will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers by email.
